Ranier Jordan, 19, Sophomore, Engineering Major: “I think I made the right choice. I chose to go here because I wanted to do my GE here and then I stayed, because I’m not from here, I’m from Fresno. I planned on going to San Jose State out of high school but I couldn’t afford it. So I decided to do my GE here and then I’m going to transfer.”

Samuel Alvarado, 20, Sophomore, Administrative Justice Major:” The reason I came to San Jose City is because I wanted to gain units, transfer units, to go to the police academy and that’s basically about it. I made the right choice. It’s not only convenient to where I’m at, it’s a great school. It has a great curriculum, and all the teachers are great, too.”

Brent Drygas, 22, Senior, No major: “(I came to SJCC) because I like ceramics and different stuff around school.
I went to Pioneer High School and after that I went here. I think I made the right choice. I’m almost done with all my classes.”

Elizabeth Richards, 19, Sophomore, Liberation Studies Major: “ I came to San Jose City College because it’s really close to my house, and it seems really accessible for me, and has great resources. Yes, I think I made the right decision. I like it here, and I’m transferring to San Jose State in the fall.”

Natalie Nguyen, 28, Cosmetology Major: “ I came to San Jose City College because I was on the waiting list for cosmetology for once I was selected I was like ‘oh my god’. I had to drop everything and make sure that I was ready for this intense boot camp. So far it’s been what it says it has been. The word is it’s the best, and it is. So I’m ready for next semester, and I made the right choice by giving up a lot of other things, definitely the right choice.”

Kelly Murphy, 20, Junior, Cosmetology Major: “I came to San Jose City because I’ve always been interested in cosmetology, but I tried out college first, and I didn’t end up liking it. So I decided to try cosmetology, and I do think I made the right choice. It’s something I can see myself doing for a long time, and I enjoy it a lot.”
